What Is A Concrete Slab Foundation Support?

Concrete slab support with helical piers is achieved by transfering the concrete floor slab's weight onto helical piers before or after foundation construction. At the Bagby Furniture Building in Baltimore's Little Italy, LEVELIFT SYSTEMS supported newly constructed floors within the existing shell of the historic building. 

Common Foundation Support Applications

Among the other growing applications for the CHANCE® Helical Pier are foundation repair, and the support of any existing concrete slab which is: 

1. settling due to soil erosion beneath the structure.
2. The need of strengthening due to current or increased load requirements. 

We offer foundation repair  to sagging concrete floors, stabilizing them by securing a slab bracket to a Helical Pier which has been drilled through a cored access holes into the underlying soil.

How Concrete Slab Foundation Support Works

1. The area in need of support is identified.
2. An 8” or 10” hole is cored through the slab.
3. A Helical Pier is advanced into the underlying soil.
4. Torqued to the desired capacity.
5. A slab bracket is then secured to the top of the Helical Pier.
6. A bolt on the top of the channel bracket adjusts through a threaded cap fitting on top of the helical shaft.
7. The channel lifts the floor as the bolt is tightened.
